Here is a wonderful story of a man who refuses to let his situation get him down!
I was driving downtown Salmon Arm and I look out my side window and there is this man absolutely rocking out with no one around him. I immediately noticed the cane and realized he was blind. I pulled over and parked a few blocks away. As I walked closer, I heard this incredible performer singing his heart out. I listened and cheered him on for an hour. Each time he was surprised that I was still there. It turns out he is 100% blind. not even a shadow. Yet he still writes, records, sings and produces all his own music! I was so moved by this man’s passion for his music that I gave him everything I had in my wallet and asked if he would consider coming and doing a performance at the Copper Island Pub! He accepted and now we are emailing back and forth to get a date nailed down and have him perform here for us!
I can’t imagine how difficult it would be living in the dark all the time. But Jason R. Merrington has found a way to come out of the darkness and share his light with the world! I really want to give him an experience like he has never had before with a packed house all there to hear him sing! Rather then maybe one person clapping on the street, I want a packed house cheering for him!! I will be selling tickets to come and see him perform and 100% of the profits will be going to Jason along with my donation of matching the Ticket Total collected to support his dream!
